Curatorial Narrative In the late 16th century, when European artists were still grappling with the nuances of realism, an anonymous artist employed a novel technique to render botanical subjects. The use of cut-out prints pasted onto blue paper in “Collage of cut out prints pasted on blue paper Pl 08” creates a sense of detachment from traditional brushwork. This method allows for a level of precision and control not readily available with traditional mediums, resulting in an almost clinical attention to detail.
