Curatorial Narrative The Collage of cut out prints pasted on blue paper Pl 16, created in the late 16th century, occupies a unique position within the Baroque tradition. The artist’s technique, characterized by linear brushwork and a focus on figurative subjects, is reminiscent of the masterworks of northern European printmaking from this period. However, the deliberate pastiche of different cut-out prints, reconstituted to create a new composition, imbues the work with an air of studied eclecticism. This juxtaposition of disparate elements achieves a visual tension that heightens the sense of atmospheric depth and spatial complexity.
