Curatorial Narrative The Afiche de la CGT en homenaje al lder sindical Jos Ignacio Rucci, executed in 1974 by an anonymous artist working within the Soviet Realist idiom, occupies a singular position within the art historical canon of that era. Characterized by its robust impasto technique, this work embodies the quintessential traits of Modernist and Brutalist design styles, which privileged architectural forms over representational figuration. The artist’s palette a vibrant amalgam of red, blue, white, and yellow hues serves to heighten the emotional impact of the image, imbuing it with an almost palpable sense of civic fervor. As such, this work is less concerned with subtle atmospheric gradations than with projecting a forceful visual presence. Upon enlargement to its optimal dimensions, 44×59 inches, the Afiche de la CGT assumes a commanding spatial presence, one that asserts itself through its deliberate chromatic structur
